The heart

I was able to count

Around the chair

I used to spin from

Here to there

Never reaching

Where I found

The touch with

The one good eye

Mighty Benji

Had a guitar he used

To murder tunes he

Never could have wrote

And I pondered on the sheet

Scratching i felt all I needed

Was a whiskey and a gun

For the shooting of the instrument

Not the player for one is a sin

And one just a plain old crime

And so long Marianne creeped

Into my heart where the tears

Flow crimson from the pain

And I wished she held on like

A crucifix but they knew they

Would laugh when the letters

Had no distance to fly

Or scream or cry about it all

And I could do a puzzle

While others made love

To the night sky

And I could work

Relishing the blood

Tracing the words of

My heart along my palm

And I could read a book

To live within the tale

And forget the pound

Pound pound of the day

Delighting in the night

And the knife could have

Torn but it hadn’t the soul

And I could raise the metal

Hearing its crash upon

My skin cutting my need

Through the scars on my back

And I could love so much

More than the songs can tell

And when my skin felt skin

It moved beyond the touch

Reverberating in the dark

Where the only light

Is the only one we love

Where the crack is thin

But just enough to allow

All we need to feel

The shadow of the girl

Whose name you see

In the eyes reflected

When all you have

Is yourself alone

I like

Of a day when the light shines

Or a night when the moon wanes

I have an inclination in my soul

To disco dance naked under

A velvet sky while reading a poem

I heard somewhere about dragonflies

Roamimg beneath a rainbow cloud

Of half demented singing robins

Who fell in love with wide eyed swans

Along a lake side where humans kiss

While holding hands refusing the cross

To love a man or a woman with golden

Hair or purple or brown skin or black

Who strokes a cat with love or walks

A dog or pictures a day when mans

Dreams no longer include guns

Where stones build halls to sing

And floors to swing surrounded by

A jungle of trees breathing the earths

Air and exhaling the green for a

Panther and a giraffe, a rat and a

Lion, an elephant and every creature

Inbetween who swim in lakes

Of blue shimmering crystal stars

Of lifes sweet hope feeding flora

Coloured from the ultra of the crimson

To the infra of the purple in hippey

Jippey and straight and narrow

Lines of all the souls free from

The guilt of god and the cruetly

Inflicted by demented men

To float among the worlds of

Imagination where adults

Remember the secrets of fairy

Rings and gobstoppers and

Imaginary friends who cuddle

When you cry and friends hold

Hands and hugs are free

And pages are turned to read

Words and pencils return to

Draw rainbow in the sky

Above shoeless races through

Meadows of wild.flowers

To the song of the corn crake

Romancing a.pink flamingo

With poor eyeside and a taste

For all the world has to gift

To those.who open their hearts

To touch the world with love

Spring a

We walked by with out a care

Silence shadowed in the park

The ghosts disco danced within

Hidden behind the china vase

ornate fields sprung forth

golden daffodils filled streams

Of gold to lift the eyes swimming

Meandering paths of spring time

Bluebells entwined in love with

The daisys pale wedding dress

Ring of fairy dust sheen

Barefoot through the dew

We ran to skip within

The Spring

Touch

He touches your skin

With trembling hands

Looks in your eyes

And

Your name

Echoes on his breath

His fingers on

Your cheek

He smiles

His body shudders

Inside your mind

His body crumbles

You feel

His hand

caressing

your scream

Once more

He waited

Until then

His lips upon

You

He whispers

From below

Into your heart

What you knew

When his eyes

And yours

Made us

Words

When shyness lost

Its hold

And

Words won the war.

Beyond the wall

Where

For a while

A tear would fall

The bricks decayed

Where light touched

And drew close

The words inside

To smile

A dream once hidden

Begins where fear

Ends

And love begins

For lifes sweet kiss

Of sunset skies

On starling wings

And nighttime stars

Of moonlight dreams

When shyness lost

Its hold

And

Words won the war.

Crumbling

I pass it by and cry

To see the bricks

Where the cement

Has dried to dust

The world we told

Ourselves we’d build

Hand in hand

Is waiting in silence

For us to return

But how,

I’m lost

In a maze inside

My mind.

I hear your voice

But the walls revolve

And world we were

To build crumbles

From the echo

Of us walking

Without the other’s

Touch

Calling

London is calling

Falling in the snow

Waiting for my footsteps

To make it through the war

Inside my mind

The battle wages no more

I know my place among the stars

Where she shines upon the ground

Glittering buttercup symphonies

Rise and fall for us

To sing along the grassland hills

Where my heart it waits to roam

Shivering in the cave lights call

I.isten to.myheart as it learns

The way to devour the fear

Upon a midnight quay I stand

to remember forever more

My dear who listens to my voice

She wrote me a poem

A sonnet and a song

With a lonely refrain to cast

A hook of love sweet tune

To embrace beneath the falling

Roar of the waterfalls last hope

One step removed i roam

Among the shadows and the time

To watch the world’s smile

Shimmer to shine among

The heartache and the crime

No prison cell to hold me

No chain to keep me down

She holds the key for me

To sing my endless love
